WENDY CHAN is the founder and president of Definity Marketing. Her firm, established in 2004, is the go-to place for businesses seeking smart solutions, guidance or help with identifying best business or marketing opportunities. She is known for out-of-the-box thinking and her lean but high-impact results-oriented approach. Collaborating with a network of experienced associates who are best in class across the country, and utilizing a full arsenal of tools – time-tested traditional as well as the latest digital ones, her company delivers excellence seamlessly for projects big and small. An Asian food industry veteran, her firm is responsible for new product development for existing food manufacturing clients, and for planning culinary projects, fund raising galas, trips, festivals, trade events, cooking demos and high profile productions, including in partnership with the World Food Program (UN), Food Bank of NYC, The Asia Society and James Beard Foundation. She is a respected expert in Asian food, with both breadth and depth of knowledge encompassing manufacturing, distribution, marketing and promotion.
Co-author of New Asian Cuisine (IFWTWA, 2006) a compilation of recipes from over 100 celebrity chefs based on the New Food Pyramid, Ms. Chan is passionate about food, cooking, gardening vegetables and travel. She is a tireless promoter of all Asian food in America, professionally and personally. She is eager to educate home cooks, aspiring chefs and culinary professionals interested to learn more about Asian food and culture. Ms. Chan also advocates sustainability, organic farming, eating local, and the importance in becoming food-savvy.
Her career started in advertising with leading international agencies in Hong Kong, and continued in America, subsequently joining a leading corporate American company as a senior marketing executive. She co-founded a full-service marketing firm in New York before she focused on consulting. Her clients include a range of established and emerging brands and governmental trade promotional boards, as well as non-profit organizations.
Committed to contributing to the community and mentoring young professionals, Ms. Chan has been actively involved with numerous organizations, including serving on the diversity board of the National Association of Specialty Food Trade (NASFT) and the Certification Commission of the American Culinary Federation (ACF). A member of Zanmi d’Ayiti, she is a committee member leading the organization of “Haïti Chérie Benefit” in New York City. She was instrumental in launching All Asia Food Expo, the first Asian food trade expo in North America for Diversified Communications. Ms. Chan is a frequent speaker in conferences and seminars. She now lives with her family in New York City.
